Every tool has one job. Here is how they differ.
The loop is simple: practise a hard conversation, find the habit that cost you, drill that habit, then prove it in a new scene. Each tool below does a different part, so you never practise the same thing twice by accident.
Which tool, and when.
| Tool | What you do | What it checks | Does AI run it? | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Simulate | Talk to someone who reacts and pushes back. It can be one person or a whole room. | What happened at the end, plus 24 communication skills. | Yes. AI plays the other person and reviews how you did. | You want to practise a real situation from start to finish. |
| On the spot | Answer one surprise question, then a follow-up. No character, and no ending to win or lose. | How you think out loud: structure, getting to the point, filler words. | Yes, to mark your answer. | You want a quick warm-up before a meeting. |
| Fix a weak spot | A one-minute drill on the exact habit your last conversation showed. | One simple rule, counted from your answer: passed, or not yet. | No. A rule does the counting, so the result is instant and free. | A conversation showed you a habit to fix. Pass, and Luwy sends you back to prove it. |
| Retry and Prove it | Say your weak moment again. Then pass a fresh scene with no hints. | Whether the skill still works when nobody helps you. | Yes. | You want a skill to count as proven. |
| Transfer challenge | Use the same skill in a new setting, at the highest pressure. | Whether the skill works outside the scene where you learned it. | Yes. | You have proven a skill and want to know it is real, not memorised. |
| Read the room quiz | 48 short Malaysian campus and workplace scenes. Pick the best reply. | Your judgement. Every answer comes with a reason. | No. | You want to build judgement without speaking or pressure. |
| Tone check | A short note that appears after Impromptu and On the spot. | How your words and pace may sound to a listener. It cannot hear emotion in your voice. | No. | You want to see how your words may land. |
Simulate
Talk to someone who pushes back. Interviews, pay talks, difficult managers, customers, presentation Q&A and social situations, with more than 1,300 Malaysian scenes. Pressure rises with your answers and follows the scene: an interview gets time pressure and curveballs, a negotiation gets pushback. Free accounts get 3 full conversations a month, and every account gets all of it open for the first 7 days.
Audience mode
A room, not one person. Any scene can become a room of two to five people, and a mission can define its own. You have to answer each person, and Luwy scores whether you spoke to the whole room.
Read the room
Notice before you react. In the quiz you choose the best reply to a short scene, with no AI and no speaking. Inside Simulate, the review shows how the other person reacted to each answer.
Retry and Prove it
Fix the answer that hurt you, then show it works. Luwy quotes your weakest moment in your own words. You say it again and see both takes. Prove it is a fresh situation with no hints, and only independent runs count.
Fix a weak spot
Drill the habit your conversation exposed. Hedging, rambling, no ask, no reason, a warm-up that eats the answer. One rule is counted from your answer, then it sends you back to prove it. It is not a random quiz: it appears because of what you did.
Transfer challenge
Same skill, different setting. After you prove a skill you meet it again somewhere new at level 5. Passing it is the strongest sign the skill is yours.
On the spot
Think before you freeze. A question you did not see coming and a few seconds to answer. It is lighter than a simulation and has no character or outcome, so it is a different job from Fix a weak spot.
Impromptu practice
A topic, a plan, a minute. Pace, fillers and pauses are counted from your recording. The Word of the Day earns a bonus only if you use it in a real sentence.
Tone check
How your words may sound. A label based on your words and pace after Impromptu and On the spot. It says plainly that it does not listen to emotion in your voice.
Speak clearly and Pronunciation
Be understood. 400 tongue-twister and clarity lines, plus a short recording checked for clarity, rhythm and stress. The aim is speech people follow easily, not a different accent.
Register and code-switching
The right words for the right listener. Luwy notices the local mix-ins in what you wrote or said (lah, kan, aiyo and similar words and particles) and flags when you are too casual for a manager or too formal for a friend. It reads words only, not accent.
The communication benchmark
24 dimensions in five groups. Message, influence, people, fit and pressure. Each one points to a habit, explains why it matters and says where to train it. Coach-scored dimensions need a quote of your exact words, or they are capped and left out of the average.
Missions
Prepare for something real. Turn an upcoming interview, pay talk, leaving a job or senior-role conversation into a short plan, rehearse it, optionally set up your own audience, and finish with a proof run.
Word of the day and Sentence bank
Save patterns, not scripts. One useful word to say out loud today, and a bank of sentence structures you can bend to fit different conversations.
Friends and leaderboard
Practise with other people. Challenge a friend to a speaking quest. Leaderboards show a rating and streak, never your transcripts. Luwy is for adults aged 18 and over.
We show our working.
Measured
Words per minute, fillers, pauses, whether you answered every person in a room, and how well you read the room are calculated by code from what you did. If delivery was not measured, we say so instead of guessing.
Quoted
Each coach-scored criterion points to your own words and gives a fix you can use in the next attempt.
Labeled
Scenario meters are estimates. Scores are for this answer, not a verdict on you. See the research behind each feature and what it does not prove.
See it on your own voice.
